In the few days since the tragic murder of 49 of our brothers and sisters on June 12th in Orlando, the staff of IMPACT Magazine has struggled with what we should say. Countless news reports have informed us of the facts, at least as we know them so far. Fellow writers and bloggers, friends in the LGBTQ community, have expressed the anger, frustration, and grief we all continue to feel. This horrible thing has been done to us, to our loved ones, to our family … and no words can ever ease or erase this loss.
The world is a sadder and poorer place now, without the joy, the energy, the gifts, and the love all these saints had to offer us.
Instead of adding our inadequate voice to those pouring out their heart-felt thoughts and prayers, we feel compelled simply to say aloud the names of those so cruelly and abruptly taken from us. This is our poor monument and testament to your lives. You will not be forgotten.
