Breathe deep
And again
Your eyes are still open
Remember
The name of God is a sigh

A sigh of frustration
When things aren’t as planned
And anger is fanned
And the exhaustion swoops
And lands

A sigh of resignation
When a child picks the other home
Or a mother cannot stay alone
Or another battle has come
And gone

A sigh of relaxation
When ice cold beer hits your lips after a mow
Or you sit in a hot tub in the snow
Or you finally feel love
And know

A sigh of rest
When you forgive and release
And choose instead to live with peace
And your blamings gently fall
And cease

A sigh of peace
When you smile and remember
When you breathe deep
And again
And again
And your eyes close
