Growth, Health, Good Condition – Not Just for Your Soul

Bonjour, beauty junkies!

After spending the week with my grandparents I started to reflect on how important it is to eat good healthy foods. Both of my grandparents suffer from diabetes, a disease I have grown to dislike. If you don’t suffer from diabetes it is all too easy to overlook the importance of a balanced healthy meal. I check my grandparents’ sugar levels 4 times a day to insure that their sugar levels aren’t too high or too low. There are various reasons why their sugar levels can “spike” or “drop” but the main reasons are caused by the types of foods they intake.

Along with being a beauty fanatic, I love to do research on organic foods and how they affect our bodies and the importance of the nourishment each meal can make. I can’t stress enough the importance of monitoring what you take in as an individual on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.

My pastor, Craig Groeschel at Lifechurch.tv, is constantly talking about the importance of being aware of what we intake—and not just food. Everything that we choose to watch on TV, what we read, the music we listen to, who we surround ourselves with, and even what hydrates our skin has an effect on our life and well-being. Even if the effect is minimal, it still is important. It’s our bodies, minds and souls we should cater to. I would consider those 3 things the most important things we should focus on—on a day-to-day basis.

With that being said there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t hydrate my skin and hair. From the top of my head to the bottoms of my feet, I find it important to keep my skin nourished. As I said in my last article, it isn’t about vanity, it’s about self-preservation.

After cleansing the scalp, face and body we should always nourish what we have taken away. Cleansing is important but it sometimes takes away some of the natural oils that we need to have soft supple skin. There are times, as we mature, that our body doesn’t produce enough of our natural bodily functions to maintain a youthful glow or supple skin. Why let anything get in the way of our pampering and self-preservation? We shouldn’t! If there is a concern that you’re faced with—there is a remedy! It might be something that can be immediately addressed or something that might take some tender love and care. Either way, we shouldn’t let any “speed bumps” slow us down!

And now, the products!

Along with our cleansers being skin specific, so are our moisturizers and conditioners. If you notice that throughout the day your hair and face have excessive oil, maybe you should try a conditioner and moisturizer that offer the benefits of balancing out your scalp and skin. Or if you notice throughout the day that your face is irritated because of dryness and your scalp is starting to produce dandruff, maybe you should try a moisturizer and conditioner that boosts hydration to the skin and scalp. There are many brands and products in this gigantic industry that each and every person can find a solution to their specific concerns. There are instances that problematic skin is caused by medical issues and since I’m not a MD my only suggestion is to seek professional medical advice.

So, first things first. Let’s talk about a great conditioner and treatment that would be perfect for dry hair/scalp.
