Emotion, Flare & Change

Bonjour beauty junkies!

The Holiday Season has arrived! For most, this is the season to get together with friends, family or the family you have formed. With Thanksgiving dinner passing and the upcoming Christmas parties, like the infamous Ugly Sweater Party, it gives you the perfect opportunity to add a little flare to your grooming or beauty style. It’s an impeccable time for a renovation of your original look!

I think it’s always good to change or spice things up a bit from time to time. Sometimes it’s one small thing that can give you the chance to show on the outside how you feel inside.

There has been a misconception for the longest time about the beauty industry. There are some that think that it’s solely based on vanity, but that is where the misconception lies. I have always thought of it being based on the reflection of your inner beauty. I guess it all boils down to interpretation. But I choose to believe that whenever we are styling our hair, spritzing cologne or perfume, or adding a little color to our face, it’s the reflection of how we feel internally for that day!

When I first started my journey with Lancôme Cosmetics, my Regional Education Executive was training us over the “Pillars” of our fragrances. Each fragrance had an emotion attached to it. There was one for empowerment, seduction, and the most important—love. At the beginning I didn’t make the connection of how a product could convey emotion. But after working in this industry for over 10 years I have truly discovered the connecting factor of products and emotion. There have been countless times I have had someone sit in my chair for a makeover and they are overwhelmed with the day’s challenges. After pampering them with my famous European facial, they immediately relaxed, letting one problem after another go, and drifting into a state of reflection. I know personally whenever I am in reflective mode, it’s the highest peak of my learning experience about overcoming obstacles, and the end of my frustration or worry. It’s the little things that can assist you in problem solving and being able to let go.

With that being said, I believe that’s the connecting factor between emotion and products. Have you ever put on a tube of lipstick and absolutely loved how it made your lips look? Did you notice how it gave you a boost of confidence? Or have you ever spritzed your favorite fragrance on and immediately felt more attractive? It’s the connection between how you are feeling and the exuberating part of that emotion through your product. That to me is personal style—across the board.

With that being said I would like to introduce you to a few products that will give you an enhanced flare to your look – and that needed jolt to your emotions and self-esteem – for the holiday season!

For your Hair …

For your Face …

Clarins Bright Plus HP Gentle Renewing Brightening Peel (4.2 fl. oz. at $38 available at clarins.com or Macys.com)

Refreshing exfoliating lotion casts off dull, discolored surface cells — speeding cellular turnover for a brighter, more even skin tone. Gently fades-away freckles and dark spots for a brighter, younger-looking complexion. For maximum results, use twice a week followed by Bright Plus HP Intensive Brightening Mask.

Bright Plus HP Intensive Brightening Mask (8×0.28 fl. oz. at $32.50 available at clarins.com or Macys.com)

This skin tone correcting mask restores the brightness, clarity and radiance of youthful-looking skin in just 5 minutes! Clarins’ proprietary blend of Alchemilla, Raspberry, and Vitamin C helps fade freckles, dark spots and discolorations – delivering the ultimate hyper pigmentation protection. Laura Mercier Lip Glace is by far the best lip gloss I have ever used! I love this product. It is hydrating without the tackiness that glosses normally have.
