love One

365 days of loving you exclusively;
It started with the color purple and had its shades of blue.
But the one thing that kept me pressing on was
my sureness of your love for me.
Many times I’ve felt vulnerable…
But our love,
His love-
Keeps us One.

You’ve spent your life building a wall that I climb.
Sometimes it’s not easy, but I continue to climb because
I’ve prayed and I believe God is showing me something.
Something about you…
Perhaps something about myself…
In the past, “love” was easy because it was physical.
At a young age I was forced to master that.
But you’ve allowed me to love mentally,
and admittedly that is harder.

In healing, I’ve realized my needs are different now…
The things I need may not be the same for you.
But it is important that we hear each other.
I will do all I can to meet your needs and all
I ask is that you do the same.
That may be difficult because our experiences
and realities are different.
But hear me…
And I’ll hear you.
And we’ll love One.
